HOLI in mumbai in 2021 amid COVID 2nd Wave

I shifted Mumbai last year and as my better half couldn't get leave because of yearly closing ,we had to stay here in Mumbai during Holi.

I never had stayed far away from family during holi .Recollecting past memories of holi celebrations back home,i missed family members &friends.

I browsed the internet to know about the mumbai city events during holi.Got to know that Rangpanchmi in Mumbai is celebrated with vigour,people play with colours dance on music,big celebrations are held in a lot of places and city also celebrates many holi events and parties in MMRDA grounds,country club,Mahalakshmi Race course and many more places.

But the 2nd phase of corona wave played spoilsport,drained all the colours out of the holi festivity.

I never thought that holi would be celebrated without gatherings,colours and music as holi got celebrated in mumbai in 2021 amid covid 2nd wave .

The BMC banned public and private celebrations of Holi .Even holika dahan & Rangpanchami was prohibited.

People thus had to celebrate holi at home with family members and friends.

Some places had reports of people gathering in numbers and flouting BMC guidelines,reported by a renowned newspaper daily.

Whatever,I wish this kind of holi never comes again and the corona fear goes away for ever.

MY first experience of MUMBAI.👀 I work in a PSU bank🏦.I had been to Mumbai way back 10 years before.The then crowd at KURLA STATION and the crowded street images are still afresh. I have always loved being in Jharkhand.Reasons are many-my childhood buddies,family, known places and a simple lifestyle.We dont need big paychecks to survive and live comfortably there.
